In May of 1998, the San Diego District Attorney Investigator’s Association (SDDAIA) established a FALLEN OFFICERS FUND (FOF). The fund was created for the purpose of rendering financial assistance to any active San Diego or Imperial County Law Enforcement Officer in times of crisis.

This fund assists local, state and federal officers or their immediate family who are in need of financial assistance as a result of death, injury or any other event in which financial assistance would not otherwise be immediately available.

Members of the Association decided to host an annual FOF Golf Tournament for the purpose of raising funds and make the fund known to the law enforcement community.

Since its inception, the FOF Golf Tournament has grown enormously popular and always sells out to a total of 144 golfers who generously support this worthy cause. The tournament is always preceded by a memorial service honoring fallen officers.
